Rice price on 01/08: Enterprises increased reserves, pushing up domestic rice prices
After many days of sharp increase, the rice price on August 1 st fluctuated when the rice price remained stable while the price of rice continued to increase sharply from 100-250 VND / kg.
Rice prices in many provinces in the Mekong Delta today remained stable compared to yesterday. Specifically, the price of Jasmine fresh rice ranges from VND 6,100 - VND 6,150 / kg; IR 504 5,700 VND / kg; OM 9582 rice 5,670 VND / kg; OM 5451 rice at 5,750 VND / kg. Despite holding prices, compared to the end of last week, the price of rice in the Mekong Delta at this time has increased to VND 350 - 400 / kg.

Domestic rice prices have risen due to the return
Talking about the cause of the slowdown in rice prices, many traders in Dong Thap and Kien Giang said that due to the lower demand from the warehouse. Although people continue to demand high prices of rice, traders have not accepted buying at higher prices than yesterday.
Contrary to rice prices, rice prices continue to rise. Specifically, NL IR 504 rice is at VND 8,650 / kg, an increase of VND 50 / kg compared to yesterday and an increase of VND 400 / kg compared to the end of last week; rice TP IR 504 at 10,200 VND / kg, up 250 VND / kg compared to yesterday, and increased sharply to 800 VND / kg compared to the end of last week; OM 5451 rice is also at VND 10,300 / kg.
Nguyen Van Tu, a trader in Thanh Binh district, Dong Thap province, said that the Covid-19 epidemic returned, making the domestic rice market hot. Besides enterprises in the Mekong Delta, many businesses from the North such as in Hai Phong and Nam Dinh are also stepping up to find reserves to make rice prices continuously increase.
In contrast to domestic rice prices, Vietnam's export rice prices on August 1 continued to remain low. Specifically, 5% broken rice is kept at 448 - 452 USD / ton. The reason is that the demand of the world market is currently quite quiet.
