Vietnam's rice export price has risen again, setting a new peak

According to rice traders, as of March 3, 2121, the price of 5% broken rice in Vietnam offered for sale on the world market increased by about 7 USD / ton, raising  Vietnam's export rice price  to the highest level. 505 USD / ton, is a record high level in 9 recent years.

The reason for the increase in export rice prices was attributed to the lack of supply, while the Philippines continued to purchase.

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in 2020, the sharp increase in rice prices has caused the value  of Vietnam's rice export turnover  to rise while the export volume decreases.

Meanwhile, the Philippine market is boosting the import of rice. Moreover, the complicated situation of COVID-19 epidemic diseases is considered as the factor causing the high rice price due to the increase in demand for reserves in many countries.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Food Association, forecasts of Vietnam's rice exports in the first quarter of 2021 are still good when Vietnam's main export markets such as the Philippines, Africa ... continue contracting to buy rice of our country.

The high price of rice for export has pushed the price of rice in the domestic market to be stable at a high level for 3 days. The price of paddy in the Mekong Delta is as follows: In An Giang, OM 6976 rice is 6,900 VND / kg; Jasmine rice: 6,800 VND / kg; IR 504 rice is 6,950 VND / kg; Scented radio 8 costs 7,200 VND / kg; OM 5451 costs 7,000 VND / kg; Jasmine rice: 7,000 VND / kg; OM 9577 and OM 9582 share the same price of 7,000 VND / kg; Long An fresh sticky rice costs from 6,400 - 6,600 VND / kg; An Giang fresh sticky rice at VND 5,800 / kg ...
