The information is given in the report of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to the Prime Minister on the formulation of the rice export management plan for May 2020 and the following time.

Specifically, from May 1-5, stop the mechanism of rice export management and allow rice export activities to return to normal, complying with the provisions of Decree 107 of the Government on rice export business. .

However, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that there should be some support measures such as exporting rice only through international border gates. Strengthen inspection and supervision to prevent and handle acts of smuggling rice across borders.

Traders must strictly abide by the regulation of regularly circulating at least 5% of the amount of rice that traders have exported in the previous 6 months.

According to the report, rice exports at 11:30 am on April 26 actually exported over 185,000 tons of rice, out of a total of 400,000 tons of quotas allowed to be exported in April.  With the total amount of rice that can be exported for the winter-spring crop is 3 million tons, expected export of rice in April is 300,000 - 350,000 tons, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the maximum export can be 1.9 million tons and the remaining amount of rice can be exported 1.3 million tons.

While according to the evaluation of localities, associations and businesses, the issue of food security at the present time is no longer as worrying as the end of March.

Therefore, the recommendations are to increase the export quota in May from 600,000 to 650,000 tons, or to allow rice export to be normal and not apply quota.

At the same time, it is necessary to have solutions to accelerate the inventory of existing ports due to failure to register rice export declarations according to quotas, speed up the clearance of rice goods to minimize storage and storage costs. yards and storage of ships.
